Kambi Teso Feeding Program

About the Program

The Open Arms feeding program currently feeds 120 children that live in the Kambi Teso slum near Eldoret. For many this is their only meal of the day.  Our staff members visit Kambi Teso, four days a week bringing hot and nutritious meals to children in need.  Some are orphans being raised by a sibling, others are looked after by an elderly grandparent, and still others have such challenging family circumstances that their basic needs are not provided for.

As well as receiving nutritious food, the children also benefit from establishing a relationship with the Open Arms staff who look out for any social and medical issues that may arise. During meal time the children hear a Bible teaching, learn scripture verses, and sing songs.  Just as important as feeding children’s tummies, our staff focuses on building a relationship, mentoring, sharing God’s love and instilling hope.
